October 22, 2011
Vienna Boys Choir

Join us for an evening of timeless music as the most celebrated choral institution of Europe, The Vienna Boys' Choir (Wiener Sängerknaben), appears Friday, October 22 at the Florence Events Center.

No group of child musicians has won more renown than the incomparable Wiener Sängerknaben, founded by Emperor Maximilian I in 1498. Six centuries later, the famed Vienna Boys Choir continue to delight music-lovers across the globe with their purity of tone, distinctive charm and a diverse, crowd pleasing repertoire that encompasses Austrian folk songs and waltzes, classical masterpieces, beloved pop songs and medieval chant.

The Vienna Boys Choir is a world-class ensemble that is a guaranteed delight the entire family. the Vienna Boys' Choir is divided into four sub-groups or touring choirs. The choirs are of equal standing; the tours, appearances in Vienna and recording projects are shared among them. Each choir has a choirmaster, and two tutors or prefects who travel with the boys. The choirs are named after famous Austrian composers associated with the choir's history, Bruckner, Haydn, Mozart and Schubert. The choir still performs much of their music. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see this amazing choir here in Florence.

Individual tickets will be available at $25 each. You do not want to miss this show!
